Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Mission
We, the ladies of Gamma Alpha Lambda, are a sisterhood bonded to Christ who are growing in our faith journeys, serving with a heart like His, spreading love and sharing our faith with others, and submitting our lives to the Lord.
Pillars
Servanthood: Serving with a heart like His. Best demonstrated through service and mission projects to demonstrate God's love in a practical and loving way to the world.
Evangelism: Sharing the faith as Jesus Christ, our Savior, did with others. Being involved in the community and having a deep personal relationship with the Lord enables members to be prepared at any time to share the gospel. Mission trips with an evangelistic purpose as well as everyday living experiences allow GAL members to share their faith in active ways.
Faith: Growing in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Bible study, discipleship groups, and accountability partners, GAL members seek to grow in their faith. As knowledge increases, so do love and zeal for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sisterhood: Unity and forming strong bonds within the organization. By having Christ as the firm foundation on which to stand, GAL members are unified through Him. Sisterhood brings GAL members closer together because of the common bond in Jesus Christ.

History
The National Sisterhood of Gamma Alpha Lambda was founded during the summer of 2005 by Brooke (McDowell) Bayer and Emily Brooker, with the help of Jennifer Collier. Great passion for the Lord Jesus Christ and the desire to grow as Christian women guided the founding of this organization. Through much prayer, love, time, and guidance from the Lord, the GAL sisterhood became a reality.
The Alpha chapter of Gamma Alpha Lambda was founded at Missouri State University on September 16, 2003. The Beta Chapter is located at Northwest Missouri State University and was founded in April 2005. With the Beta Chapter's founding, the need for a National organization was established. The development of the National Sisterhood of Gamma Alpha Lambda demonstrated the evident desire to expand GAL's mission of promoting Christian lifestyles and making a difference through servanthood, sisterhood, faith, and evangelism. By offering encouragement and support to college women on university campuses across the United States, stronger personal relationships with Jesus Christ are developed among our members. Our third chapter started Spring 2007 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and our latest (fourth) chapter started at Missouri Valley College, located in Marshall, MO, during the Fall of 2007. The Lord is continuing to grow and bless our sisterhood and it is our passion and prayer for us to always glorify Him through our sisterhood.

Statement of faith
We Believe both the Old and the New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, and the Divine and final authority for the Christian life as the only rule of faith and practice. ~1 Timothy 4:12
We Believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We Believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He came to earth being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
We Believe that people were created in the image of God, but people sinned and are therefore lost and separated from God, and that only through new life through the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures as a sacrifice, arose from the dead, and then ascended into heaven where He is now at the right hand of our Lord God as our High Priest and Advocate. All who believe in Him are now justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We Believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and therefore become eternal children of God.
We Believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of their sins, renew the believing sinner, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
We Believe in the second imminent visible and personal coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to establish His worldwide kingdom on earth.
We Believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting life and joy with the Lord and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment.
We Believe in the Great Commission which our Lord has given to His Church to evangelize the world and to disciple believers.
